Cambios / Changes

El mes de junio empezó con cambios importantes. Mamá de repente empezó a trabajar y yo pasé de estar todo el día con ella a ir a un sitio a jugar con otros niños. Al principio me sorprendió un poco, pero enseguida me acostumbré a la nueva rutina, y lo cierto es que me lo paso bien.

The month of June started with important changes. Mommy started to work all of the sudden and I went from staying the entire day with her to going to a place to play with other children. In the beginning it surprised me a bit, but I got used to the new routine soon, and the fact is that I enjoy it.

Papá me lleva y me recoge de la guardaría, y por el día juego todo lo que quiero, me dan de comer un montón, y tengo mi cuna reservada para dos siestas diarias. Las cuidadoras son muy simpáticas y les gusta tenerme en brazos… hasta que se cansan. Además conocen a Avril y son muy cariñosas con ella cuando viene a verme algunos días.

Daddy drops me off to and picks me up from daycare, and during the day I play as much as I want, I eat a lot, and I have a crib for me to take two daily naps. The caregivers are very pleasant and they like to hold me in their arms… until they get tired. Besides they know Avril and they are very kind with her when she comes to see me from time to time.

La abuela Chela vino a mediados de mes y justo cuando llegó celebramos mi cumpleaños. No se sabía muy bien si era el mío o el de Avril, ya que había estado ensayando varios días el evento y cantaba a grito pelado.

Grandma Chela came mid-month and right when she arrived we celebrated my birthday. I did not know whether it was mine or Avril’s, given that she had been rehearsing for some days and she sang shouting her head off.

Yo creo que me quisieron engañar con el día, porque las fotos de la abuela están fechadas y son de un par de días después de mi cumpleaños. Está bien que esperáramos a la abuela, pero que quede constancia de que me he enterado, que no estoy aquí de adorno.

I think they tried to fool me with the day, because grandma’s pictures are timestamped and they show a date a couple of days after my birthday. It is alright that we waited for grandma, but for the record I have realized, just in case someone thinks I’m just a waste of space.

Me regalaron unos cuantos juguetes, aunque mi regalo preferido fueron unas pelotas, convenientemente de goma, para lanzar por casa. Avril también tuvo un regalo de rebote, lo que hizo que siguiera celebrando mi cumpleaños como si fuera el suyo.

They gave me a few toys as gifts, although my favourite one was a set of balls, conveniently rubber made, to throw around at home. Avril also had her gift, which made her continue celebrating my birthday as though it 

was hers.

Un mundo de sabores / A world of flavours

Afortunadamente a los dos dientes que tenía se le han unido unos cuantos más en la parte de arriba, y las comidas se han vuelto más interesantes si cabe. Yo que estaba emocionado con el pan y las patatas fritas, no sabía lo que me estaba perdiendo. Al principio mamá me daba un poco de lo suyo, pero ahora ya tengo un plato para mí solo y cada día estoy deseando que llegue la hora de comer.

Fortunately a few teeth in the upper side of my mouth have joined the two that I had, and now the meals have become even more interesting. Funny how excited I was with bread and fries, I did not know what I was missing. In the beginning mommy gave me bits and pieces from her plate, but now I have my own for myself and every day I’m looking forward to meal times.

La primavera no ha sido precisamente cálida, pero lo suficiente como para empezar a salir de casa y disfrutar de la calle. A primeros de abril nos fuimos a conocer Rochester, que es una ciudad de Estados Unidos que está cerca de Toronto en línea recta, pero no tanto en coche, porque hay que rodear el Lago Ontario.

The spring has not been precisely warm, but comfortable enough to start going out and enjoying activities outdoors. Early in April we went to Rochester, a city in the United States that is close to Toronto if you go straight, but not as much when you go by car, because you have to surround Lake Ontario.

Nunca había estado en Estados Unidos, pero la verdad es que está cerca y cuando llegas, parece que todavía estás en Canadá. Viajamos en la furgoneta y entre los DVDs, las siestecitas y las cosas que llevaba mamá para comer, el viaje se me pasó volando.

I had never been in the United States, but the truth is that is very close and when you get there, it looks as though you are still in Canada. We traveled in the van and with the DVDs, the naps, and the snacks mommy brought, the trip flew by.

Más tarde vino a visitarnos el abuelo Javier, que vive en Estados Unidos pero nunca había estado en Canadá. El abuelo no es muy hábil con los bebés, pero ponía interés. Aunque sólo estuvo un par de días nos dio tiempo para conocer la ciudad e ir a las cataratas del Niágara, que es como el grifo abierto de la bañera pero más grande. Asusta un poco.

Later on Grandpa Javier, who lives in the US but had never been to Canada, came to visit us. Grandpa is not very skillful with babies, but he tried his best. Although he was here only for a couple of days we had time to get to know the city and to go the Niagara Falls, which is like the bathtub faucet but larger. It was kind of scary.

En mayo nos fuimos de vacaciones a la playa en México. Antes tomé unas cuantas clases de natación con mamá para ir entrenando, y aunque me daba miedo al principio, le acabé cogiendo el gustito. En México, unos días íbamos a la playa y otros a la piscina, más que nada porque a Avril le gustaba cambiar, pero lo que a mí me gustaba de verdad era el buffet. Había un montón de platos para probar y cada día cambiaban el menú. Le dije que no a las papillas y dejé claro que no quería dejar pasar la oportunidad de probar nuevos sabores, porque el mundo está lleno de ellos y si están por algo será.

In May we went on vacation to the beach in Mexico. Before I took a few swimming lessons with mommy to start training, and even though I was scared in the beginning, I ended up enjoying it. In Mexico, some days we went to the beach and some to the swimming pool, mainly because Avril wanted variety, but what I really liked was the buffet restaurant. There were lots of dishes to try and they changed the menu every day. I said no to baby food and stated clearly that I did not want to let go the chance to try new flavours, because the world is full of them and they are there for a reason.

La venganza del invierno / The winter’s revenge

No sabía muy bien qué esperar del invierno cuando regresamos de los días de verano en Perú, donde al parecer el invierno es verano, ¿o es al revés? Los primeros días no estuvieron mal, frescos, o sea cero grados, pero luego se puso a hacer frío, menos de -20 quiero decir, y luego a nevar, y luego frío, y luego nevó otra vez, y estamos empezando la primavera y aún tenemos nieve en el suelo. Papá dice que el invierno se ha vengado de nosotros por querer escaparnos al calor de Perú.

I did not know what to expect when we came back from the summer days in Peru, where it seems as though winter is summer, or is it the other way around? The first days it was alright, cool, i.e. zero degrees, but then it started to be really cold, under -20 I mean, and then to snow, and then cold, and then it snowed again, and it’s almost spring and there is still snow on the ground. Daddy says that the winter is taking revenge on us because we went away to the heat in Peru.

Con este panorama no hemos tenido la oportunidad de ir a muchos sitios. La mayoría del tiempo lo he pasado con mamá en casa, disfrutando del calor del hogar y de algunos cambios.

With this outlook we have not had the chance to go to many places. I have spent most of the time at home with mommy, enjoying the indoors warmth and some changes.

Después de haber pasado unos meses durmiendo en la habitación de papá y mamá me mudé al cuarto de Avril, donde me estaba esperando una cuna más acorde con mi tamaño. Lo cierto es que no se está mal y no nos molestamos para nada. De hecho ahora duermo del tirón hasta la mañana y no me salto un par de siestas al día.

After having spent a few months sleeping in daddy’s and mommy’s bedroom I moved to Avril’s room, where I had a crib for a baby my size right waiting for me. The truth is that it’s not bad and we don’t disturb each other at all. In fact I now sleep through the night and I never skip a couple of naps a day.

Además, nada más llegar mamá empezó a darme de comer con una cuchara. Al principio no sabía qué hacer y echaba de menos mis biberones, pero enseguida me di cuenta de que lo que comía estaba bueno. El momento de la comida se ha convertido en mi preferido y a veces me pongo impaciente si no está a tiempo o si se acaba y aún tengo hambre.

Besides, right at our return mommy started feeding me with a spoon. In the beginning I did not know what to do and I missed my milk bottles, but I quickly realized that what I was eating was actually yummy. Eating time has become my preferred part of the day and sometimes I grow impatient if it is not ready at the right time or if the food is over and I’m still hungry.

En esas circunstancias mamá me da una galleta, que antes me duraba un buen rato porque no tenía dientes, como en este vídeo. Pero ahora que ya tengo dos la galleta no dura mucho, y lo que más me gusta es quedarme con papá, mamá y Avril en la mesa, que siempre cae algo.

In those circumstances mommy gives me a cookie, which used to last a lot because I did not have teeth, like in this video. But now that I have two teeth the cookie goes quickly, and what I like the most is to stay with daddy, mommy, and Avril at the table, because I always catch something else.

Ahora que ya no estoy tumbado todo el día puedo jugar con más cosas. Me gusta sentarme y jugar con  juguetes que tienen muchas piezas y se pueden amontonar, y me gusta saltar en el jumper para estirar las piernas un poco todos los días.

Now that I’m not lying down all day I can play with more things. I like to sit down and play with toys with many parts that I can pile up, and I like to jump in my jumper to stretch out my legs a bit every day.

A veces mamá me pone la televisión mientras salto, como este día que salió este lagarto morado dando palmas. No sabía muy bien de qué iba pero acabé uniéndome a él y de paso aprendí a dar palmas.

Sometimes mommy turns on the TV while I jump, like this day when a purple lizard came out clapping. I did not know very well what it was about but while I was at it I learned how to clap.

Mi primer viaje a Perú / My first trip to Peru

Un día a mediados de diciembre vino a buscarnos un coche por la noche, que ya es raro. Luego nos sentamos en unos asientos con una pantalla pequeña delante y me dormí. Cuando me desperté estábamos en Perú. Ahora sé que era Perú, entonces estaba un poco confundido, porque de repente había mucho ruido por la calle, hacía calor, la gente hablaba en español, y la abuela Chela y la tía Mónica estaban allí achuchándome y no en la pantalla del Skype.

One day mid-December a car came to pick us up at night, which is weird. Then we sat down on a seat with small screens in front of you and I fell asleep. When I woke up we were in Peru. Now I know it was Peru, but back then I was a bit confused, because suddenly there was noise in the streets, it was warm, people spoke in Spanish, and Grandma Chela and Aunty Monica were there cuddling me and not in the Skype screen.

También me he enterado de que los asientos con pantalla estaban dentro de un avión. Había visto aviones en el cielo cuando íbamos paseando por la calle en verano, pero no había imaginado que te podías montar en ellos y volar. Desde el suelo parecen más pequeños.

I have also figured out that the seats with screen were inside a plane. I had seen plans in the sky when we used to go out for a stroll in the summer, but I had not imagined that you could get into them and fly. From the ground they look smaller.

El caso es que cambiamos el abrigo y los calcetines de invierno por ropas más ligeras y de la noche a la mañana estábamos rodeados de gente. Yo sabía que teníamos familia pero no tanta, y eso que sólo he conocido a los que viven en Perú.

The fact is that we changed the coat and the winter socks for lighter garments and overnight we were surrounded by people. I knew we had family but I did not expect these many, and I have only gotten to know those who live in Peru.

Por ejemplo, conocí a mi bisabuela Berta, que estaba contenta porque soy su primer biznieto varón. A la sexta fue la vencida.

For example, I met my great-grandmother Berta, who was very happy because I’m the first great-grandson. Sixth time’s the charm.  

También tengo un primo que se llama Diego como yo, y también tenemos los mismos apellidos, lo que hace que la gente piense que nuestros destinos están inexorablemente unidos.

I also have a cousin called Diego like me, and we both have the same last names, which makes people think that our destinies are inexorably connected.

Pero había mucha más gente: primos, primas, tíos, tías, primos-tíos, tíos-abuelos, primos segundos, y más combinaciones. Incluso apareció Hello Kitty, que yo pensaba que se había quedado en Canadá.

But there were many other people: cousins, uncles, aunts, great-uncles, cousins once removed, and other combinations. Even Hello Kitty showed up when I thought she had stayed in Canada.

El tío Javier, a quien no había visto desde que nos visitó en verano, se portó fenomenal, porque mientras trabajaba en la mina nos dejó quedarnos en su casa en Lima y nos dejó su coche, con el que nos fuimos de viaje.

Uncle Javier, who I had not seen since he visited us in the summer, rose to the occasion, because while he was working in the mine he let us stay at his apartment in Lima and lent us his car, which we used to travel around.

Primero nos fuimos a la playa, a un sitio que se llama Paracas. Era la primera vez que veía el mar así de cerca, y la verdad es que impresiona, más aún si lo conoces en un sitio como éste. Echa un vistazo a las fotos de nuestra excursión por la Reserva Nacional si no te lo crees.

First we went to the beach, to a place called Paracas. It was the first time I saw the sea so close, and it was impressing, even more getting to see it in a place like this. Have a look at the pictures from our trip to the National Reserve if you don’t believe it.

Luego volvimos a Lima y nos juntamos con tío Javier y tía Mónica para viajar a Trujillo. Allí nos alojamos en casa de la abuela Chela y pasamos la Navidad y el Año Nuevo entre familia y amigos. Fue una vuelta al verano: paseos por el parque, visitas a los columpios con Avril, y sol que calienta de verdad.

Then we went back to Lima and travelled to Trujillo together with Uncle Javier and Aunty Monica. There we stayed and Grandma Chela’s and spent Christmas and New Year’s among friends and family. It was a return to the summer: strolls in the park, visits to the playgrounds with Avril, and sun that actually heats up.

Más tarde hicimos otro viaje, esta vez a la montaña, a un sitio llamado Cajamarca. No estaba muy lejos de Trujillo, pero el paisaje era completamente distinto: las montañas eran verdes, el cielo azul, y llovía todos los días.

Later on we made another trip, this time to the mountains, to a place called Cajamarca. It was not far from Trujillo, but the landscape was completely different: the mountains were green, the sky was blue, and it rained every day.

De vuelta llegó el momento de empezar a despedirse. Volvimos a ver a familiares y amigos, pero esta vez estaban todos más tristes. Nos dio tiempo para ir a la playa, a despedirnos de la arena, ahora que me estaba aficionando, y también para conocer mejor a mi prima Alexandra, que nació un poco antes que yo.

When we returned it was time to start saying good bye. We met with family and friends again, but this time they were sadder.  We had time to go to the beach and say the sand good bye, now that I was starting to like it, and also to get to know my cousin Alexandra, who was born just a few weeks before I did.

Y un día el tío Javier nos llevó al aeropuerto. La tía Mónica y la abuela Chela lloraban porque no querían que nos fuéramos, y yo les dije que vinieran a vernos a Canadá. Nos montamos en los asientos con pantalla, me dormí, y cuando me desperté ya hacía frío otra vez.

One day Uncle Javier took us to the airport. Aunty Monica and Grandma Chela cried because they did not want us to leave, and I told them to come to visit us in Canada. We sat on seats with screens, I feel asleep, and when I woke up it was cold again.

El poder de una sonrisa / The power of a smile

El otoño ha llegado y todo alrededor va cambiando de color: del verde al amarillo, del amarillo al rojo, del rojo al marrón. Es diferente, un poco más frío, pero bonito a su manera.

The fall has arrived and everything around is changing colours: from green to yellow, from yellow to red, from red to brown. It is different, a bit colder, but wonderful in a different way.

Ya no podemos salir a dar tantos paseos por la calle como hacíamos antes, pero mamá me lleva a todos los sitios a los que tiene que ir (tampoco le queda otra alternativa). Ya me conozco a su doctora, su dentista, su peluquera, la cajera del supermercado, y las amigas de Avril en el Busy Bee. 

Now we cannot go out for a walk as often as we used to, but mommy takes me everywhere she goes (not that she has an alternative). I already know her doctor, her dentist, her hairdresser, the supermarket cashier, and Avril’s friends from daycare.

Puede parecer un poco agobiante porque todo el mundo se asoma a mi cochecito para saludar y poner caras, pero en el fondo me ayuda a desarrollar mi dimensión social. La conclusión a la que he llegado hasta ahora es que una sonrisa hace que la gente sea más amable conmigo, así que allá donde esté sonriendo voy.

It may look a bit overwhelming because everyone pokes their face over at my stroller to say hi and make faces, but down deep it helps me develop my social skills. The conclusion I’ve arrived at so far is that when I smile people are friendlier with me, so I smile wherever I go.

En casa Avril sigue activa como siempre. A ella le gusta jugar con mis juguetes pero a mí no me importa, porque hay un montón de cosas con las que entretenerse y además, ella me deja también los suyos. Además, como ella se los conoce mejor, simplemente mirando cómo juega, yo aprendo más rápido cómo funcionan.

At home Avril continues as active as usual. She likes playing with my toys but I don’t mind, because there are a lot of things to play with and moreover, she lets me play with hers. Besides, because she knows them better, simply looking how she plays, I learn faster how they work.

Octubre es el mes de la calabaza. Un día mamá y yo fuimos con Avril de excursión y recogimos una calabaza pequeña para decorarla. Otro día fuimos todos a una granja y compramos una calabaza grande. Otro día papá le hizo unos agujeros y la calabaza se reía. Y luego la iluminó y mamá me vistió con un disfraz de león, aunque con el relleno que tenía yo también parecía una calabaza. Sólo nos falto comernos una.

October is the month of the pumpkin. One day mommy and I went with Avril to a school daytrip and we picked a small pumpkin to decorate it. Another day we all went to a farm to buy a larger pumpkin. And later on daddy poked some holes and the pumpkin laughed. Then he lighted it up and mommy dressed me up with lion costume, though with the padding I also looked as a pumpkin. The only thing left was to eat one.

El otro día fue el cumpleaños de Avril. Ya llevaba unos días un poco pesada con el juego del “feliz cumpleaños” pero ninguno de los ensayos fue tan bueno como el de verdad. Mamá me llevó a Busy Bee (no podía ser de otra manera) para celebrarlo con sus compañeros y con una tal Hello Kitty, que acabó viniéndose con nosotros a vivir a casa.

Last week it was Avril’s birthday. She had been a bit annoying for some days playing the “happy birthday” game, but none of the rehearsals was as good as the real one. Mommy took me with her to Busy Bee (as usual) to celebrate it with her classmates and someone called Hello Kitty, who ended up coming to live at home with us.

Alrededores menguantes / Shrinking surroundings

Cada día que pasa tengo la sensación de que todo lo que me rodea se hace más pequeño: la ropa, la cuna, el balancín, el coche, la habitación, la casa entera. Papá dice que es relativo, una cuestión de punto de vista, pero le veo preocupado porque a mis tres meses y 19 libras (8.6 Kg) estoy a punto de exceder el tamaño del asiento del coche que se supone tiene que durar hasta que tenga seis.

Every day that goes by I have the feeling that everything around me is becoming smaller: my clothes, the crib, the swing, the stroller, my bedroom, the entire house. Daddy says that it is relative observation, based on my point of view, but I notice he is concerned that at three months old and 19 Lbs (8.6 Kg) I’m about to exceed the car seat size, which is supposed to last until I am six months old.

La culpable parece ser la leche. No es que tenga muchas opciones a la hora de elegir mi alimento, pero me gusta lo que hay y si por mí fuera, preferiría que llenaran más el biberón. De hecho mamá lo hace a veces: piensa que porque me dé más por la noche me voy a aguantar hasta el amanecer, pero por ahora nadie me quita el biberón de las cuatro de la mañana.

The culprit seems to be the milk. It is not that I have a lot of alternatives to select my food, but I like what I get and if I could ask, I’d prefer if they filled the bottle a bit more. In fact mommy does it sometimes: she thinks that because she is giving me more at night I won’t ask for it until dawn, but for now nobody takes the 4 AM bottle away from me.

El mes pasado vinieron a visitarnos desde España la abuela Nieves y el abuelo Pablo. Les hacía mucha ilusión conocerme y les gustaba pasar tiempo conmigo (bueno y también con Avril). Como hacía buen tiempo nos dábamos al menos dos paseos cada día. La abuela era la que más disfrutaba y quería darme el biberón todo el rato, a lo que yo no iba a decir que no, faltaría menos.

Last month Grandma Nieves and Grandpa Pablo came to visit us from Spain. They were very happy to get to know me, and they enjoyed spending time with me (well, and also with Avril). Because the weather was great we went for a stroll at least twice a day. Grandma was the one who enjoyed it the most and she wanted to give me the bottle all the time, something I would not say no to, of course.

Los fines de semana, cuando papá estaba en casa y tenía más tiempo, nos íbamos a dar una vuelta todos juntos: un día fuimos a las playas de Toronto aprovechando el buen tiempo; otro a conocer Kitchener y Waterloo, y la autopista estaban tan llena y era tan aburrido que acabamos volviendo a casa conduciendo por el campo, mucho más emocionante; y otro día nos fuimos al zoo, donde no me enteré de mucho, pero Avril se lo pasó en grande. Menos mal que papá y mamá compraron una furgoneta, porque si no, no sé cómo lo habríamos hecho.

On weekends, when daddy was at home and he had more time, we went out all together: one day we went to the Toronto Beaches taking advantage of the great weather; another one we went to visit Kitchener and Waterloo, and the highway was so packed and it was so boring, that we ended up returning home driving across the countryside, which was much more exciting; and another day we went to the zoo, where I did not realize much what was going on, but Avril had a great time. Good thing that daddy and mommy bought the van, because otherwise I don’t know how we would have done it.

Con Avril me lo paso bien. La verdad es que como no para quieta, siempre tengo curiosidad por saber en qué anda. Aun así todavía le tengo un poco de miedo, porque a veces se me echa encima y tengo la impresión de que me va a aplastar.

I enjoy my time with Avril. The truth is that she is so active that I’m always curious about what she is up to. Still I’m a bit scared when she is around, because sometimes she is all over me and I have the impression that she is going to crush me.

Mi momento preferido del día, al margen de las seis veces en que me tomo mi leche, es la hora del baño. Me encanta patalear en el agua y salpicar a quien se acerque. Además, casi todos los días Avril y yo coincidimos, y mientras me baño me río con sus historias y me pongo al tanto de su conocimiento del abecedario.

My favourite moment of the day, aside from the six times I have my milk, is bathing time. I love to kick my legs in the water and splash whoever is close by. Besides, almost every day Avril and I bathe at the same time and while I lie on the water I laugh with her stories and I get up to date on her knowledge of ABC.

Hace un par de semanas los abuelos se volvieron a España con lo que se han reducido mis oportunidades para salir a pasear y para que tengan en brazos. Avril sigue sus progresos deletreando y aprendiendo nuevas canciones, y mamá se apresura a que me ponga la ropa de 3 a 6 meses porque ya me queda pequeña.

A couple of weeks ago Grandma and Grandpa returned to Spain, which means that my chances to go out and be held have reduced. Avril continues to make progress spelling and learning new songs, and mommy hurries up to dress me with the 3-6 month size clothes because they barely fit me.

Acostumbrándome a este mundo / Getting used to this world

Han pasado un par de semanas desde que llegamos a casa y ya me voy habituando a mi nuevo entorno. Los primeros días fueron un poco ajetreados después de los meses de tranquilidad en la barriga de mamá, pero ya nos estamos acostumbrando los unos a los otros.

It’s been a couple of weeks since we arrived home and I am starting to get familiar with my new surroundings. The first days were quite busy after months of peace in mommy’s womb, but we everyone is getting used to each other

La primera semana en casa Avril estaba de vacaciones de la guardería y creo que pensaba que yo era un muñeco, por la manera en que me trataba. Por suerte aún estaban aquí la abuela Chela y el tío Javier y se encargaban de distraer a Avril cuando yo quería dormir.

The first week at home Avril had the week off at daycare and I believe that she thought I was a toy, based on how she handled me. Fortunately grandma Chela and Uncle Javier were still here and helped entertain Avril when I wanted to sleep.

Lo malo de tener tanto sueño es que todo el mundo cree que te pueden dejar ahí tumbado en la cuna todo el día escuchando música clásica. Al final he tenido que hacerme oír y dejar claro que también quiero estar donde está la acción.

The downside of being so sleepy is that everyone thinks that you can stay all day lying down in the bedroom listening to classical music. In the end I have had to make myself heard and clearly state that I want to be where the action is.

Avril piensa que cada vez que lloro es porque se me ha caído el chupete y cuando me oye llorar viene a ver si está en su sitio. Dentro de lo que cabe que intente ponerme el chupete es lo de menos. El otro día quería que me lavara los dientes, y si no llega a explicarle papá que aún no tengo dientes, me mete el cepillo en la boca.

Avril thinks that each time I cry is because my soother has dropped and when she hears me crying she comes to check whether it is where it has to be. All things considered that she tries to give me the soother is not the worst that can happen. A couple of days ago she wanted me to brush my teeth, and had not daddy explained to her that I don’t have teeth yet, she would have stuck the toothbrush in my mouth.

La abuela Chela y el tío Javier se fueron la semana pasada, y Avril ha vuelto a la guardería de verano. Los días tienen una cadencia más sosegada y empieza a parecerme que el mundo a mi alrededor, el mundo de Diego, tiene sentido.

Grandma Chela and Uncle Javier left last week, and Avril is back in the summer daycare. The days are now getting into a quieter cadence and I believe that the world around me, Diego’s world, is starting to make sense.
